Sales Director – Surfaces

£70,000 - £90,000 Basic Salary + Commission + Benefits

SUMMARY

The world’s leading manufacturer of Stone Surfaces is looking for a Sales Director/VP Sales to build, manage and lead a Sales team in the UK. Listed on the stock market, they have over 30 years of experience in bringing precious stone surfaces and materials into the Residential and Commercial markets across the world and are renowned in their sourcing and craft of these products. The company has been trading through a distribution network in the UK but is now looking to set up a direct model by building a full infrastructure to complement their ambition in the UK.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role will involve direct sales, supporting the development and distribution of products in the UK market, including strategic planning. Sales division management and direction; human resources and personnel development; cost accounting and budgeting will also feature in this role. Directs and coordinates activities of one or more sales divisions and aids the company’s MD in formulating and administering organisation policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.

  1. Lead and direct the entire company sales channels across all sectors from residential to commercial, strategic accounts and business development in order to achieve sales goals and KPI’s.
  2. Participates in formulating and administering sales strategies, goals, policies and objectives.
  3. Directs and manages activities of all sales regions and divisions to further and increase attainment of goals and objectives.
  4. Reviews analyses of sales activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine progress toward stated goals and objectives and/or redirect, realign direction of sales managers and sales team members.
  5. Confers with the company’s MD and other Senior Managers to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions as well as dynamic market changes.
  6. Lead and Manage up to 12 team members in the Residential Sales, Commercial Sales, Architecture & Design Channel and National Accounts divisions.
  7. Responsible for the strategic planning of all sales divisions, overall direction, coordination, evaluation and results of these units.
  8. Constantly and consistently evaluates sales & market needs to elevate teams’ successes.
  9. Responsibilities include interviewing, coaching, and mentoring team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum Bachelors Degree plus extensive related sales leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Ability and willingness to travel – up to 50%.
  3. Must be able to work from HQ in London.
